Airtel Fraud
I m XYZ from mumbai customer of two airtel postpaid connection.I need to complain regarding one of the postpaid connection for which account details are as follows.

i got a call from no. 9867427639 the executive introduces herself as Pooja from airtel corporate division on 20th feb 2009 and said that my no.9987XXXXX have been selected for their corporate scheme which was as follows :

plan name-
Corporate49
deposit-Rs.599 -( will get adjusted in next bill)
rental-Rs.49 -
caller id(clip)- free
pulse rate-60 secs
airtel to airtel- 10 paise.
airtel to other mobile- 30 paise.
airtel to LL- 30 paise.

STD inter calling charges
Airtel to airtel- 1re.
airtel to other- 1re.

sms:
400 sms free for lifetime
after 400 sms
local sms-0.10 paise.
national sms-0.50 paise.
international sms- 0.50 paise.
default toppings 400 sms free.
which can be converted into talktime if needed.

and if u need to make any one std number completely free for lifetime advance deposite of Rs.599 -(will get adjusted into next bill)

so i asked them to send in the executive to collect the cash and document. where the person named rakesh came to appoint me. i checked out his identity card which clearly gave an indication that the person name is rakesh n belongs to corporate division of Airtel. i gave him total amount of Rs. 1200 – on the behalf he handed me over with a Customer relationship form channel copy(carbon copy) which has a Preprinted number as B739390. and assured me that my tariff will b changed to new corporate49 committed tariff in 24 working hours.

But til date no tariff have been changed nor the person is reachable. after 2 days i launched a complaint to customer care about the same. i had a conversation with the below mentioned person

He promised me to solve this issue but til date no one have taken any initiative for solving the problem of an genuine customer. I waited for 16-18 days but you people didn’t turned out single time.then i again called up customer care to ask them to look upto matter where i had a conversation with

just look at my account of using an Airtel connection is so high and i have been making there payments sincerely till date stil i m facing such a problem from there end.on the contrast i receive so many calls from airtel collection department. i had talked to their collection department also about the issue that i wont be making any payment untill my problems are not solved in real life this time rather then your false commitments.I had a word with the below mentioned person:

Infact there are many issues i had already complaint about it earlier but no action have been taken about wrongly charging me.

    Using Airtel prepaid connection from last 3months apprx.

    23may09 5.00p.m activate the 25 internet plan for 24hours unlimited browsing,throught sms by airtel confirm service activated. when i start browsing my balance got 0.08paisa. and internet stopped. according to package its work 24hour without detecting the balance. only charges i have to pay for package that already detect on time of activation. I call customer care more than 4 times in tha same problem but till 28may09 (IST)2.45p.m no reply from customer care after promise all time we are call you back and update the status.

    Sub:- Non Refund of Security Deposit.

    Sir,
    I Rahul Rajkumar Gupta using mobile no 9970734734 transfer my prepaid no to postpaid on 24th feb 2009 at that time of conversion two person from Bharti Airtel Ltd swaragate office pune come to my office and take all my required documents & Rs 500/- in which Rs 250/- for Activaton & Rs 250/- for Security Deposit was & issued me a fresh new sim card.

    On 5th May 2009 I again transfer my no from postpaid to prepaid & cleared all my dues on the same day but my security deposit is not being transfer to my a/c & when I call to customer care from Bharti Airtel outlet ( Ankit Communication Chinchwad ) on no 888 an say all this matter they reply me that security deposit is been not reflecting in the a/c so i reply to them that I have received a letter from the Bharti Airtel Ltd ( 7th floor, Bldg. No.7, Interface Link Road, Malad (W), Mumbai-400064) than I got a reply from customer care executive that please show that letter to our any of my nearest Bharti Airtel Outlet your security deposit will be immediately transfer to the a/c.

    But to my supprise when I show the company letter to Bharti Airtel outlet ( Ankit Communication Chinchwad ) the person denied the company letter and reply that this letter is of no use & they cannot give my security deposit & can’t transfer security deposit amount to my a/c. I feel that I have been cheated by the Bharti Airtel Ltd.

    So I request the kind management to look into this matter & please transfer my Security deposit to my a/c as early as possible.

    This bill does not tally.Total bill comes to Rs 343.95 instead of Rs 650.66.I have already paid rent in advance for three years which expires in oct,2010. Will you please look into the matter and give the instructions to your billing staff to ammend this bill and send me the fresh bill after the rectification. I hope to get an early response before 25th of this month otherwise i have to pay panelty.

    I had airtelo post paid number 9960406301 and applied for ISD connection for which airtel demanded an amount of Rs. 1500/- as security deposit which I paid vide cheqwue no. 040857 dated 11/07/2008to their authorised agents M/S R C Cllular who gave receipt no.047948 dated 11 /07 02008.
    The cheque was passed but the airtel resumed the facility and disconnected. This happned many times and in agony I surrendered the post paid connection and I had a pre-paid card which I activated.
    There after I visited the airtel office and requested them to refund the deposit…but till date they have not refunded the money.
    Masy I report the matter to the consumer forum or police.

    I have deposited an amount of Rs. 1500/- with R C cellular for ISD facilty which Airtel used to activate and discontinue the same.My number is 9960406301. This number was prepaid which I changed to postpaid. Since the services were very bad hence I again migrated to pre paid just to keep the number slive.
    Although post paid services on above number are withdrawn but airtel did not refundede the said Rs. 2500/- till date. I have bank statement which shows that the said cheque was cleared by th SBI, Dharampeth nagpur.

    My father is using prepaid connection with no-9815919787 from last 4 years. on 23rd june, 09 he recharged his phone with amount 575. On 29 th june he lost his balance. On enquiring from customer care we came to know that there were three calls to Dubai, due to which we lost our entire money. But we have not done even a single STD call then how it is possible that our balance should be debited.Even we don’t have any call in call register. It’s my humble request to check the matter.

When ever u talk with the customer u must put voice record and then talk so u will get good response then:)then customer using postpaid connection they cheated means do one thing don’t pay the bill. Don’t use postpaid best way is use ratecutter and recharge top with full talk time top up cards its use full than postpaid.

    I have five time lodged a complaint on the airtel service number 121 and they assured me that this will be got deactivated within24 hours . but nothing has been done so far.

    Airtel Postpaid – non-refund of international roaming deposit

    I had 3 Airtel postpaid numbers on my name,with me, my wife and my mom. When I was planning to go abroad I have activated International roaming by giving 7500/- deposit (Receipt No: 7334,Location:Laser) on one of my number : 9790927150 on 20 June ’09 , On condition that I will be getting the amout refunded within 45 days of deactivation of the service. Then After I got settled here, I have disconnected that number on 24 June ’09. After that whenever My wife called up airtel on the status of disconnection/refund, she was getting different answers each time. ‘the number was temporarily suspended only, 45-60 days after it gets permanently disconnected I will get the money.’ Then i tried contacting 121 through email, I have said that I will get the money within 60 days from July 01, the date the number got suspended. I suggested to adjust the bill amount(800/-) with the deposit, and I was supposed to get the amount 6700/- from Airtel by Aug 30. And today is Sep 05, and till now I didnt get the money back.
    Mean while, airtel had barred my calls to 121, as I have exeeded the number of calls to their useless customer care. After getting fed-up with AIrtel, I have disconnected one more number : 9940024979, for which the bill amount was 6000/-, and at the time od disconnection, I made very clear that I will pay the amount only after I get the refund from airtel. And now my parents and relatives are getting calls from airtel, asking me as the bill amount is on due. When I contacted Airtel 121 againon Sep 04, I was told that the refund amount cheque is already dispatched by Aug 14 ’09, and I didnt get that yet. Then they offered me that they will arrange a call back to me with in 24 hours by one of the Call center supervisors. Today I got call from airtel back end/refund department, saying the number got permanently disconnected only on Aug 08, and I need to wait for 45-60 days from that date to get the refund amount. They were not ready to listen to any of my questions/concerns, asking me to contact 121. and the most happiest part of that is Airtel applications are down due to some upgrade till Sep 11 ’09. I have to wait till then to get any info.
    I have already undergone many of the mental torture due to this. I am really fed up with it.
    Please help me to get a way out of this.

    Sir I am using a No.9571872433 last month on Sept 09I have stopped airtel friends chat as I was unnoticely activated it.
    A conformation message also received by me.But this month Oct 09 my account has been debited with 30/- rupees and when contacted the customer care servises they told me that I have friends chat active. How it is possible as I am in Raipur now and the above said number is switched of for a long time.
    This is rediculus and how can we have faith on your service.
    Whenever you want you are deducting the amount. Are we foolish or else. If your owner has no money then why he is providing the service and deducting the amount illegally.Tell him to go to a SQUARE and start begging there will be a lots of money for him.

    I have been using a post paid airtelno.(9818413985) since 2 years.On 17th feburary i visited an airtel office in (Kamal Nagar)and applied for an postpaid connection under my same no.(Serial NO. DL8269961)was my application no.I was promised on 17th that it would hardly take 3 days for all the formalities and my cell will be activated into a post paid account after 2-3 days.I am a working women since3day i have taken off just for all the verification formalities. But i am sorry to say there have been not response either from airtel main office nor from kamal nagar Airtel office.I think after this i would expect a better result from you guys nor i am afraid u’ll lose an airtel customer.

    Providing of CUG Connection is a base less talk of Airtel.
    I have taken two cug connection when ever i am calling to my other mobile response is comming as mobile switch off.
    IT seems that Airtel service is utter failure even after complaing serveral time no effect.

A sum of Rs 30 was deducted 2-3 weeks back from my balance without my consent & now few messages have been sent to friendship club especially to ladies \girls which is more deplorable .If u don’t stop this act immediately .I will have no option but either to discontinue ur service or to approach consumer court for redressal

    wen i recgarged the mobile by sum of rs 50(300 msgs free evryday for 1 month) got the benifit after 3 days. yhen my no was disconnected as they said v hav not recieved ur verification bt i dint get any cll frm company, with difficulties it starte after 3 days bt then also i was nat able to send msgs , i did contact customer care bt they were nt able to solve my prblm , they also disconnected the call and evry time i ried they also removed the option frm my mobile to tok to the executive.
    please check ur emloyees and solve my prblm as soon as possible

    While we applaud Mr.Infant Dinesh for his bold initiative, my heart goes out to the rural folks AND other lesser mortals who otherwise won’t have any clue to the “gullible” marketing techniques of Private operators like Airtel. The sections in which the cases are registered by the Chennai Suburban Police shows the seriousness of the case, as I whistle-blowed couple of weeks ago, after hearing the language against Airtel, posted in various online forums by all of you.

    Can we do together and make Airtel kneel-down and pay-up? Shall we have people volunteering from each state to file a police case and others following up with their complaints based on the Infant Dinesh model? Concentrate on VAS related frauds, they are huge, we found after a research. It’s against the LAW, charging without customer’ consent. Hence the police are taking it seriously and are looking at more evidence.

    Excess Data Charges without Supporting Documents during International Roaming
    I am a customer with Airtel Karnataka for the past 3 years+ and have been regular and prompt payer of bills. My Mobile Number is 9972043211.
    I traveled to Japan on 27th November 2009 and reached on 28th November 2009. I returned to India on 12th December 2009. THERE IS OVER RS.5375/- AND RS.9700/- CHARGED FOR DATA, WHEN I HAD NOT USED DATA TRANSFER / DATA CONNECTION.
    Again, I traveled on 19th December 2009 late evening and reached Japan on 20th December 2009. I returned to India on 23rd December 2009. I received an SMS alert on 20th December tell me my outstanding as over 25000/- On 21st December 2009 afternoon I received another alert stating my outstanding as Rs.36000/- Within a span of 1 day without using data connection, I do not know how Rs.11000/- can be the increase.
    I had disputed these data charges and till date without resolution, i keep getting calls from Airtel at all times and every time i need to explain the same story to their CSRs. Meanwhile, I kept Paying the Regular Plan, Call and SMS charges.
    On 17th March 2010, my outgoing calls and SMs were barred even though I had paid all the phone charges except for the above disputed amount asking them to provide breakup of the sites that I am said to have visited. Till date they did not provide me the breakup, but had barred my Outgoing facility.
    I hope at least now they will resolve, failing which need to highlight this kind of money making in press and take up legally.
    NOW AIRTEL IS SENDING GOONDAS AND ROWDIES TO COLLECT MONEY WHO KEEP ABUSING AND THREATENING US INCLUDING MY AGED MOTHER WHEN I AM NOT AROUND. THESE GOONDAS ARE THREATENING TO KILL MY MOTHER AND BURY HER APART FROM KILLING MY OTHER FAMILY MEMBERS.

Is there any authority to check this. Is there any way to get credit of my money deducted.

    Number blocked for no reason
    I had an airtel number 9860253563 and they have disconnected my number without any reason without any prior information. I have over 1400 rupees in that number and they are neither re-funding back my money nor starting my number again.

    I took a number from airtel on Thur, 17th June and got it rehcharged of an amount of Rs.1500 on Sat,19th June. I had been using the number since 3rd July until Fri, 22nd July when I saw my sim doesnt catch network. I called up the customer care – the guy told me my sim would start in 24 hrs. It did not start. Then I called up again they asked me to email nodal officer. I emailed twice (ref no. 2307201017510 and 2307201017914)and got an email saying they would get back in 24 hrs. They did not get back. I went to the customer care centre. They said they would call me on Tuesday they did not. Then i spoke to nodal office Arpana on Wed, July 28. She said the problem was “insufficient documentation”. I told her I did submit my drivers license and also filled a proper form. And that if that was the case how was I able to use it for so many days. Also, you send a message to submit documents again. I did not get that.Then she said she would call me in 24hrs. She did not. Then i called her on Mon, Aug 2. She said nothing can be done. I told her I would raise a complaint. She said you can do whatever you want.

    Please help. This is not the right way to deal with a customer. I want my money back.

    Airtel has been deducting balance from my account on a regular basis now. Every time i call Customer care, they ask me for the same questions and give me no help. Every single time i am told that i have been using Airtel Live (internet) services when i have not been using it. I have several reference numbers sent to me (few of which i will put down below). Every single time i request them to deactivate these services permanently and i am told that it will be done in 2 hours time, but after every couple of days time they deduct balance for the same reason. And when i call Customer care again, they act rude and insult us as if we have no idea on how to use a mobile. Request you to help me regarding this since this is becoming a very irritating and frustrating issue. I have been using this sim (number) for more than 7 years now and never had i faced any such problems, i am surprised by the lack of efficiency and such behaviour from Airtel. Your Customer Care Executices like Gautam Mukherjee should be sacked right away since these executives have absolutely no idea on how to talk to a customer and do not deserve to be customer care officials.

    I am Anik Garg no. 9575006090. I had the worst experience with Airtel till now .This is my 3 Letter (letter 1- 10-02-2011 10:49 AM, Letter 2- Sun, Feb 13, 2011 at 4:07 PM) writing to airtel . I used Idea services for 3 years but on 24th Jan 2011 requested for port in to Airtel which was even acknowledged by the code generated. As per the standard time limit my port in process should be done till 31 Jan 2011 but even after 26 days of waiting ( today 19th Feb 11) my airtel no. have not activated. I am sorry to inform you that i don’t think my complain if of any value to u as only I am getting is fake excuses form the customer relationship person how contacted me but my problem did not got solved on the contrary my no. 9575006090 has been deactivated from both the service providers (previous-idea, new- airtel).

    I am starting to feel that I made a big mistake my switching into airtel and people who try contacting me and ask the reason for my mobile no. not been active are also not making a good image about airtel. The kind of unprofessional attitude shown by airtel is a serious issue and will not be accepted.

    Already 26 days has passed from my portability request and i have already made 2 notices in written earlyer. This is my final notice and if my problem is not solved then legal actions will be taken.

    first service was Cricket.. which company had activated on 28th dec 2010…and other service was Fun Time activated on 4th feb 2011..

    the money deduction is as follow

    3 rupees per day for each cricket match…

    1 Rupee per day for Fun time.

    i talked to there customer care representative…. so they told me that your complaint is registered and you will get your money back soon…

    as i didnot get my money back so today also i called to Bharti Airtel 2 times… first time there customer care representative has disconnected my call … and on second call …they told me that you will get message of your complaint number..and suddenly he disconnected the phone..

    but i didnot get any complaint number and money…

    One of the biggest blunders of my life is changing from BSNL to Airtel.
    Based on the healthy talk around about Airtel offering a better customer service. I decided to go for Airtel one month back. I took a sim ( new connection ) from Airtel outlets and activated it after provide all the required documents.
    Today, the incoming and outgoing are blocked due to documentation problems. I resubmitted my documents thrice, no use at all. Finally my sim shows even shows an sim-registration error.

    Pathetic service from Airtel help line also, no one wants to answer the questions. They keep talking the same bull s***, sir documentation has rejected nothing can be done its according to TRAI. I don’t know where ‘TRAI’ is coming from, when I submit my documents more than 3 times at Airtel customer care.

    Shame on Airtel for offering such a pathetic service. Guys.. if you keep doing this I am sure you will have to close your company someday.

    My sincere recommendations from people who want to switch ‘PLEASE don’t shift at all’, at-least to ‘AIRTEL’. My number was 9880375491. My email id is harihkrishna@gmail.com

    I had purchased an airtel sim no 08084503728 in 2009 (nov or dec i dont remember clearly). I didnt use it much so it got blocked in a month or so. Its balance too went into water. Now coincidently today(17.03.2011) when my parents called me on that blocked no it was ringing & somebody was talking, where as the fact is that sim has been misplaced by me (but i havent given it to anybody).
    Please block that number immediately. Its urgent and enquire as to how it happened and take necessary action against the dealer.

    i bought airtel sim 8146012604 and got initial recharge of 77 on 9 may .according to company in this recharge we get 1-1 gb data for 3 months but i didnot get it i registered complaints many times but each time they give a new complaint number and ask to wait 3 days more data was scheduled to be given on 9 june but still i have not got i t

    This is James from Raipur Chhattisgarh using a post paid connection of airtel gsm services. My no is +919893023779…..

    I am using the zero rental gprs plan on my handset and my billed amounts from the last two billing cycles i.e April- May 2011 and May- June 2011…exceeded Rs 1000.00. In the first billing cycle it was somewhere around Rs 1400.00 and Rs 1300.00 (around) in the latter one though it never did exceed Rs 1000.00 at any of the time since i took this connection in the mid of the year 2009. In that manner I have been using this connection from the last two years.

    I inquired about this abrupt increase of my billing amounts by calling 121 helpline and was told by the executive that since I used the services if Airtel Live instead of airtelgprs.com, thats the reason i received that much amount as outstanding in the last two billing cycles mentioned above. The executive also told me that this services of Airtel Live gets activated from the consumer’s end only and for your kind information…never did i select this service on my own and my handset is used by me only and no one else…..So there isn’t a chance that somebody else did that on my handset..

    So it cannot be the fault on my part rather some technical fault from your side and i kindly wish that the wrong charges that are taken from me may kindly be refunded least i shall be having no other option except to file a complain against the airtel at TRAI(http://www.trai.gov.in/Default.asp)….

My outgoing calls are functioning but my incoming calls are blocked it says number does not exist . I register a complaint at Dwarka sector-4 New Delhi -110075 airtel customer care. But nothing happend after 15 days.When I call at customer care center they say that they have no such Information about this number but they keep sending me the bills .If they will not help me to solve this problem I will take strict action.

    It is for your kind information that i have been using airtel network for the many years, presently my number is 9981477434, which is my name, recently you noticee had played a fraud with the illegal motive to gain the illegal loss to me and illegal profit by way of deducting my balance with out subscribing any facility, Dear Sir, without my due consent , you noticee have activates service like airtel picture post bollyspice, adult joke, ACL Wireless dialogue baazi, and something full track.

    How such a company like Airtel can do such cheating just for grabbing the money by means of adopting unfair ways, here it is pertinent to mention on this point that by what authority you noticee can post the porn images will this act will not make you liable for the obscene offence.

    Further this is also the matter of Public interest why the telecom companies has made the Policy to stop the service message rat5her you should ask whether the consumer needs these service then only the service meassage should be remitted.

    Without prior consent of the consumer deducting the valuable money for the best reason known to you will make you liable to be prosecuted under section 406 & 420 of Indian Penal code.

    Kindly let me know that how much amount has yet been deducted by way of these fake services without subscribing, here it this point i will make this fact clear that i have only taken SMS alert so that i can get the benefit of missed call.

    Plz forward this notice to Mr Sunil Bharti Mittal & TRAI
