Got this complaint in mail today. Seem like a Pakistan number with code 92 not sure.
Sir, I am a regular user of Airtel My Mobile no.0982971xxxx since 2005.Today at10.06 am I got a miss call from 923426595116. I did not guess about this miss call ,so I rang the number flashed on my mob.in miss call. From other side I was told that some Mr. Rajveer from AIR TEL speaking and informed me that I had won Rs.10 lac lottery from AIRTEL Deepawali customer’s Mob.nos. then he told me to purchase ten Rs.900 Coupons of Disc TV because Airtel and disc TV jointly want to award me. In this talk I loosed Rs.100 in my mob. balance . I am not intended to spend Rs.9000.and want to know the truthfulness of this call whether AIRTEL launched such Scheme and I actually got some or it was fraud. If it is fraud than I want to take some action from your side because some want to take benefit of your esteemed organization and may cheat some innocent persons on your behalf. Kindly, draw the kind attention of your higher officers so that appropriate action may be taken against such fraud person who is defaming you Good Name. I shall be a good witness in this matter. Pl. reply me soon.

They told me to buy 11400/- dish tv copen and then tey will give me the 25lac lottery which i thik is frauda and search the net about it. This type of fake call disturb the customers and i dont know why airtel do not take any action.

My driver who uses an airtel no. also received a call today from a no.00923476433016 claiming to be from Airtel & that he has won a lottery for Rs.10 lakhs!!!! and asked him to contact one Aakash Verma from Airtel – 00923057805912 who will tell him how to get the lottery money. Had to explain to him that all this is a fraud & not to get swayed in by the colour of money which is a way of luring in people & get the account details.

This type of fraud is called “NIGERIAN FRAUD”.
I also got the miss call from this number and this is FAKE PRIZE. believe me.. its FAKE. don’t fall for this prizes.
I had also received a miss call from this number 923477965993. i was hesitant to call back but eventually called and then the fellow said that he is from Airtel, and that i had won a lottery of 1 lac Rs. he finished speaking and gave me a number 923477474134. later i came to know that this ISD is from Pakistan!!! I dint call on the second number an i wont dare to call as i get scared of being related to a terrorist organisation.

When I dialled in to the second number this person infromed that he is speaking from Calcutta customer care and infromed that my AIRTEL landline has beena lucky winner of Rs 10Lacs. He asked me to buy Dish TV recharge coupons of Rs 7,700.

here the same, i my friend is also got a missed call from +923215483645 and when he callback then replied that you have won 10 lac rupees and told him to buy something, but he denied and lost 100 talktime from his dokomo number. I dont konw what is this, but when we went to the police they told us to destroy sim, but it this a solution of this problem. I am sure not, please look into this.

If air tel is not doing somthing on this then we will stop using Airtel no. As usual Airtel is the worst in customer satisfaction. Dont bothered for customer is happy or not for using the airtel mobile.

Received similar call from 923434613972. They told me about a lottery of 15 lacs and straight away i started abusing them. Then they told me that they are from airtel delhi centre and said your sim no starts with series 89911, and u r shortlisted. They asked me to call back but before that i checked the net where i found these responses.Although Rs 20 has been already deducted from my account for that call but you guys have saved me from further loss.
Airtel doesnt seems to be doing anything in this matter.

Today, i.e. on 15.10.2010 I got a missed call from Mobile no. 923424419547 at 09.03 Hrs. I waited for some time for 2nd call and called back at 09.16 Hrs. i thoughti was the only one who got the fraud call from airtell saying i have won a lottery of 14lacs from mobile number 923424644720 yesterday,and when i told the guy online that its a fraud bcos i never heard of airtell company running lottery then hestarted misbehaving with me.i have reported the local police for the same but my question to airtell is that with so many people complaining why dont they do something about therevalued customers
I have been receiving similar calls from 923426888628 and 923151388745 asking me to buy the shah rukh khan dish tv cards and call them back with the numbers on the card so they can send me Rs. 10 lacs by cheque.
Sadly there is no action from airtel or dishtv despite the above complaints making me think that somehow they are part/ link in this fraud.
I keep getting missed calls and dont answer them however sometimes the person waits for me to answer them and starts with his frauulent requests.
Is there any action that can be taken against such scam artists? I feel they are dealers of dishtv looking to make an easy buck.

I am a regular customer of airtel.On 4/1/2011 morning,I got missed call from 00923007285981.I called back to know,the person claiming himself to be an airtel representative said that I won Rs.10 lakhs and asked me to get my number recharged by Rs.222/- and purchase ITZ Cashcard Dish T.V. worth Rs.4500/-.He also asked for my bank’s account number and pan card number,please see to it.

Just wanted to share with you all that I too got a missed call from +923466320219. And when I called on this number, they told the same old story as mentioned in this forum above and lost my money as well. I am shocked Airtel is not taking any action whatsoever against these frauds even after receiving so many complaints from loyal airtel users. I am, from now on, never going to use Airtel services again because I believe there is some vested interest of Airtel also in this fraud. Had it not been, Airtel would have got these buggers caught or barred their services by long ago.
I am going posting all of this on other forums also so that other innocent people are not trapped further losing their money to this intentional collusion by Airtel.
And, also I would request you all to make it public on many forums so that more people becoming aware of this. It will be a great help to society. If not Airtel let us taking initiatives to awake people against this fraud.

guys!!!!!!!! I also had the same experience. I got a miss call from some number. I called back, then the person on the other end repeated the same fake story. He gave me another number 00923014115049 – vijaykumar, head office bandra. I called to Airtel customer care, To my surprise I came to know that this call is from Pakistan. (Please note it starts with 92 series… ). Airtel is also helpless and cant avoid such calls as these are auto generated calls. Please be aware of this fraud and don’t fall victim of such fake calls.

well this person from pakistani no. 00923474325705 called up my aunt saying the same thing tht she had won a 10.lac ruppes lottery..she called my mum to take the whole matter forward..when my mum called him up and started investigating he kinda got frustrated and agitated..upon request of his account no. he refuesd to give it..he said tht call me 1ce u r in SBI then ill give u my account no. and asked us to stop calling from any other phone accept the one which had won the lottery..we all the way knew it was a fraud..and still hes callin my aunt..tryin to convince her..

Y to blame others when i rcvd similar call 2day after i called to airtel customer care and enquire about the number 923417483770 and 00923417485770 in reply they told me the locations are from kolkata and west mumbai when i enquired about the call rates that it is 10 rs/m he told me that it is international number of tata indicom and 2nd is of land line when i told him about the nature of cal that it is about the lot.worth 10 lacs he told me that it is of lot. Company though they only have numbers and not name so it is not fake call but my other sense told me that we can lodge a case to airtel as it seems that had close tie with these persons who are creating hardships and looting public in general.

Dear All, I have lost 1 lakh in the same fraud that this group of iditos did in Dec 2010. I have tried all my ways to get my money back, but these group of Pakistani fraud could not be caught. 2 days back my wife got a call from 00923436577731 and 00923436661667 and this time they tried to trick my wife by saying she won a lottery of 25 lakhs. I wanted the address of these bastards and I shouted at them, but they wanted to prove themselves and transferred 12500/- in our account, now they demand 50000/- worth of dish tv coupons. we have ignored their calls and they keep on calling us for the 12500/- that they have deposited in our account to prove themselves good. But its my sincere request to all of you, please dont do it even if they transfer money in your account, you never know at all if they trick you in some fraud or money laundering. Please keep updating the telephone numbers from which all of us are getting calls, so that we may save our indians from that pakistans fraud group.

I too got a call from +923474057176, but at that time i was sleeping. but before redialing them i just checked what is the country code it was from pakistan / Tajakistan… So i just ignored……please be care full even if some one says like u just own 1000-00 also don’t trust them……

Even I received calls from them, they asked me to deposit Rs.16500/- either in SBI branch or Punjab National Bank. I found this as suspicious and stopped contacting them. I am amazed to see that, just for 13.35 minutes, Airtel has charged me Rs.150/-. I have called these people only on the basis of Airtel Call centre executives, now it is left to the airtel to take the action and block all these nos and refund the money they have billed to us. Please do not give away any information on the name of winning a big prize money to people who are calling from these numbers 00923027968407 – vijay kumar delhi lottery head office or anyone by the name of ASKASH VERMA. These guys will give you a miss call. If the number begins from +92 please do not answer it. They will make you believe that you have won a lottery of worth some big prize and all your information will be needed the next morning on the same number at around 8 to give all the information. They will somehow make you believe its true so do not fall for it.I looked into this on the internet and I have come across a lot of posts where many people have been called like this. Please don not entertain such calls and dont get into their schemes. Please be alert people

Today I got a call from 4044 and 3444 from Delhi and told that my dolphin sim has won ten lakh rupees .It was declared on sahara one behalf of IPL. They told me to make a cheque of 13,000, to pay them bcoz of delay in approach. Then only there people will get back to you with all cheque and valid proof.
I think this is all scrap and suggest people not to believe this
