Airtel vs Vodafone
Only Airtel’s GPRS service is good. Vodafone GPRS charges are highly unreasonable but when it comes to range & network vodafone is bang on target unlike Airtel whose network keeps on breaking specially in a local train.
But the biggest negative point of Airtel is their pathetic customer care. The idiots sitting in their call center don’t have basic mannerism to talk also when it comes to GPRS technical part they are simply clueless & please don’t even think of connecting to their hindi customer service … they suck big time as they cant answer anything beyond what is in front of their computer screen.
Use airtel only for their GPRS service otherwise Vodafone. This my opinion what about you?
airtel is flexible and fits all because it has a lot of schemes and plans which vodafone lacks.
network more or less same in kolkata circle but in mp and cg circle airtel’s network is the ultimate choice.
in case of mobile internet again airtel scores over voda by providing unlimited internet at lower cost but not in kolkata circle here the rates of voda and airtel are almost same.
well personally for me both the customer cares are hell arrogant and big and topclass fools.
for me vodafone is better only and only because it has a better coverage in international roaming!

I am doing for domestic BPO from last 3 yrs. I do want to knw few things that newly launched TATA DOCOMO provides 64k sim…which is also available on Airtel. But TATA DOCOMO sim is not supporting all mobile handset. Few NOKIA h/s ‘s are not supporting this sim. Even i am also doing for DOCOMO, we dont have any ans for the same.
Hence any technical guy plz. let me knw the reason, when its a normal 64k sim, not CDMA…hence it should support all h/s.. minimum where Airtel 64k sim supports by that h/s…

i was at the Airtel store and the customer care was damn rude. they dont know their manners. Vodafone is always Happy To Help. The GPRS,EDGE prices have also come down. In the price category, both Airtel and Vodafone are almost the same (of course VODAFONE being better). I have a iPhone 3G from Vodafone and a Blackberry Bold 9000 from Airtel, thus i have experienced both the networks and according to me, Vodafone is better than Airtel ANYDAY.

I think airtel is the best service than vodafone, because i had used vodafone prepaid sim card for 4.5 years, suddenly my Sim had deactivated without my permission even though i had submitted my documents. when i called to customer care or vodafone store they are giving simply unrevleant response which is not happy to me… I suggest go for airtel and I enquired, many of them suggested go for airtel……..

On 8 Th and 9 th I was on roaming in UP (west ) , Uttrakhand, and Haryana,The iPhone3gs dint work at all, there was no NET connectivity no E or o icon was there, its always says NO SERVER CONNECTIVITY , NO INTERNET SERVICES etc
Note that iphone3gs is a device like Black Berry which needs a uninterrupted internet back up, I had Blackberry of Vodafone which worked throughout with EDGE icon….
NOTE :: I spend Rs 41500/- for iPhone 3gs to buy from AIRTEL , which promised me 500mb FREE for next 12 months .
• On My iPhone3gs I configured my business email and Stocks , BANKING and other IMs , I am totally dependent on it .
• It seems that AIRTEL has given a false promise and has played a trick to sell iPhone 3gs and make money , by giving false assurances.
• Its a CLEAR CASE OF CHEATING CUSTOMER.

bro i totally agree with u now days since the mobile numer protablity has come they are not letting the customers to port their number to other srvc prvdrs. even i faced the same problem but atlast i was succeeded it took 6 attempts for me to do so coz every time they didn’t permit to port for some silly reason even they tried to make the call rates cheaper for me of about 30 paise per minute and i got tempted so accepted thier offer but those thief didn’t mentioned that its just for 10 days. after prting i had gone with idea it has really got seamless network much more better than airtel and got really very cheaper call rates and plans and gprs plans are too cheaper with excellent transferr speed i would recommend everyone to try idea there is only 1 problem with idea that it doesn’t have good network in rural areas but we can compromise this for what all those things they are providing us.

My younger son too bought Iphone 3 gs from VODAFONE ,
• The services are compared and found that VODAFONE is much faster ( speed check CAN BE conducted )
• All applications were working normally on Vodafone AS compared to Airtel .
I can prove the above and you can judge for yourself.
Its a shame that AIRTEL is unable to provide services which are basic requirement to run a device like iPhone 3gs .

• On 26 th of March 2010, as Airtel launched Iphone3gs, I purchased it .
• I got it on my prepaid number 9815500517 .
• I was told about 500 mb every month of Data Usage free on iPhone3gs by Airtel for next 12 months .
• My data usage package was activated on 31st March 2010,after following up very hard with the Airtel showroom, sector 35 Chandigarh , from whom I purchased the iPhone 3gs.
• The services are very erratic and annoying , the internet does not work always , it connects and disconnects number of times, the service icon sometimes shows capital E, and sometimes small o .
• On connecting application Safari for Internet browsing it says “CANNOT OPEN PAGE , Safari can not open page because it is not connected to internet “ Same is the situation with other applications.
• If connected the speed is very slow.
• The voice does not travel thru in applications like skype or fring . ( other service provider like Vodafone its very much possible ) .
• Iphone3gs should have a steady and uninterrupted internet services which Airtel is not able to provide as of now to me .
• I configured my emails and I am dependent on other important info from the use of this phone services which I am not getting .

• Your helpline 121 is not at all aware of Iphone 3gs , they just waste time and I waste money calling them ( as it’s a charged servicesnow)
• You should have a separate HeLPLINE Service for support of I phone 3gs connections.
• As this phone has costed me Rs 41500.00 from Airtel , I expect a complete satisfied services.

vodafone network is quite good. customer care is also good compared to airtel. But GPRS is too costly in vodafone service. Where as Airtel GPRS cost is cheaper. But internet speed is too fast in Vodafone than Airtel. Also various offers are here in Vodafone which Airtel lacks. Overall, Vodafone should be preffered first. Then Airtel, Reliance and BSNL.

I dont want to use Vodafone coz its not indian company, but for a try i used the Vodafone. i Own apple iphone 3G legally unlocked by airtel. i was ruined by the worst CC. i was been cheated everytime i recharge airtel gprs(499 to 98). I am using Airtel since 2005 till date, the service, call drop and network coverage is pathetic for the last one year and getting worst day by day. i roam across India, not only in Bglr and even in other cities network coverage is getting worst now a days. The customer care, I dont know why they are saying as customer care, Even if you write or call to their customer care or even reaching out to the level of Nodal officer, or Appellate officer, you will get only the acknowledgement mail only but no response or resolution for your complaints.

Airtel has the best network and quality of reception in talk. But it is sad their service center people as well as their web info are poor.
After activating my 98 GPRS – i did not get the settings. SO i called 3 times, each time i got charged for the call – but net effect – no change in my status – namely my GPRS not activated for the model i own. On the other hand simple SMS to vodo – the settings were delivered
The Things that i like about vodafone is their Network coverage and Customer Support.
What I like about Airtel is their Services. It sucks in case of coverage.
If you want better connectivity go for Vodafone. For All the rest its airtel.

Vodafone is good compared to airtel.
The advantage of Vodafone is just it offers some good call rates but only to its home network,coming to the network quality it is not up to the airtel! where as airtel’s quality is on peaks in every case.

Vodafone has some problem with calling. everytime i call my friends my cell screen displays ‘calling’ n after 5 seconds my cell screen displays ‘call ended’ i face this problem again and again on vodafone which was quiet irritating. even my friends who awere using vodaphone were facing the same problem. now i switched to airtel n i dont face that problem anymore.
I think vodafone is best . it known for network coverage. in past three years it create good network coverage all over india . to maintain that network cost is generally high , but i appreceate that there plan is cheap then airtel . i give best wishes to vodafone.

Right now I am using both Airtel and Vodaphone. Both are better than other nonsence companies. Both of them have almost same coverage, same scheme at almost same price.
But now all of us have to appreciate that signal strength of Airtel is on decline. For that now Airtel is unable to provide better connection than Voda.
Though VODAPH is better, in case of voice calls like calling yet AIRTEL is better,in case of data calls like GPRS/EDGE.
AIRTEL has not any good costumer response. it is very costly.it does not provides a fast gprs speed.VODAFOND HAS A GOOD GPRS SPEED AND CHEAP CALL RATES ALSO.BUT TATA DOCOMO IS THE BEST.
I have used both airtel and Vodafone in Karnataka Circle.
As regards the Quality of Service, I prefer Vodafone over Airtel. While the former has excellent network coverage, unmatched call connectivity and customer care/support that is backed up by people who know how to converse, the latter is nothing more than just a brand, with bad network coverage, poor call connectivity (more call drop rates) and support/customer care backed by people who speak to customers as if they are obliging them by doing so.
If someone wants an Airtel connection just because its an Indian company, that person will have to exercise the option at the cost of below par standards of service. Therefore, if that is the reason, I’d suggest BSNL.
On Airtel, you have issues everyday: its either with connectivity, call drops, illegal telemarketing and poor packet data connection. The company does little to resolve the issue thus escalating it further.
As a matter of fact, I have used Airtel for two years and am using vodafone since past three years.

Subject: Harassment from your company after a request of disconnection of line
This is to bring to your notice that we had purchased an airtel connection mainly for broad band.
After using it for some time we wanted to get it disconnected so we had sent a letter to the ‘eternity building,Kolkata-91’ for the same. We got no response and called the toll free where we talked to few of your people Nitin and he gave a doket no.158789052, Vidya Bhushan and Mr.Subhas who had also given me a docket no.159702804. Over the phone after a verification I was assured that within 48hrs my net would be disconnected and after 3 days of which the airtel line would be completely removed. I had cleared all my dues on 20/11/2010 and the person who had collected the amount of Rs 1630 had assured me that all my dues were cleared.
But even after that I am being charged rental for the device every month and every now and then they keep calling me and harrass me to clear the dues.
Finally I spoke to Mr. Vikram Singh, Customer Care, Bhopal on the 3/01/2011 who had also assured me about the cancellation and also to Rupa Mathur, Salt Lake, Kolkata on 14/01/2011. Till date I am receiving bills and the line has not been disconnected. This seems as if taking an Airtel connection is more like getting into a debt trap.
I would request you, Mr.Mittal broad band connection is more of a communication device than a debt trap for the poor people. I hope you can understand my ordeal and do the needful.

AFTER I SHIFTED TO AIRTEL, VODAFONE STARTED CALLING ME AND AGREED TO REDUCE THE CALL CHARGES AS WELL AS DATA CHARGES, WHICH THEY COULD HAVE DONE EARLIER. ANYWAYS, WE CAN TRY ANY SERVICE PROVIDER FOR THREE MONTHS AND CAN SHIFT TO ANY ONE OF OUR CHOICE AFTER THAT PERIOD . THANKS TO MNP.

I used airtel since 2007, in that period airtel gave very good service to me ( except network coverage in remoate villages ). After an year, i’m going to my native again. I loosed my old airtel number. Now Vodafone giving good offers amoung all other netwoks.

I have read all comment regarding AirTel Vs vodafone . I think we should prefer Airtel not boz of Indian comp boz n/w stability both are same but airtel has biggest n/w coverage in india while we seen east indian state we have only Airtel and bsnl .and

In Assam vodafone is mich much better than airtel. Vodafone’s recent GPRS and EDGE plans are simply great and better than airtel. However activating EDGE services in vodafone is quite complicated.
We went to Chikmaglur district recently and surprised to find that in entire district Airtel does not work. It was a huge shock , could not use phone for 2 days.

In my openion airtel is best and voda is made in for money earning.I use a gprs plan in vodafone they send your unlimitted gprs activated and i get in net till the next day i get -470.45 balence.I canot conect coustemer care after 2 weaks.After the officer said that your gprs offer not activated .What a stupid voda custemer care.

Vodafone is the ‘power to you’. They are always ‘happy to help’. They have nice manners, services and high speed internet. I had airtel but i threw that away and now i have vodafone
according 2 me bsnl is best..then comes airtel…in case of customers service,vodafone is good..and in case of economy uninor ..bcas for Rs 90-98 range bsnl provides 3gb,airtel 2gb,tata docomo 2.5 and uninor 6gb..

airtel is worst telecom company…they charged me for net when my net was free…even the customer care did’nt talked properly so they left me no choice except portability….
nokia was arrogant and did not take small and new comers like micromax and lava seriously and noe they are paying the price for it…. something similar will happen to Airtel if they do not stop being so arrogant all the time…
i am a airtel user for 2 years and it provide pathetic service, i always use gprs service so i always recharge my mobile with 99 rs and get 2 gb to use but till date i was never successful in using even 1 gb of the data coz the speed of edge vary betwen just 4 – 6 kbps and that too very slow and much of the time there server is busy so no connection with internet, and the call rates and all the packs are very expensive in comparison to others and earlier it use to have great network strength and coverage but now days it lacks in all the areas earlier it has got stable network but now their network fluctuates even in cities and in rural areas in most of place they don’t have coverage and someplace u find coverage its just single bar and takes 10 – 15 minutes to connect a call that too with voice cut. so i decided to use mobile numbr prtblty and ported to tata docomo and that was my lifes biggest mistake although it is cheap but netwrk sucks all the time so i again port to idea that is good in all aspects till now i haven’t faced any problem. never tried there customer care till now. i get edge speed of about 16-28 kbps in idea. anywyz if any other network providing better speed then please recommend me

Vodafone’s GPRS is very fast compared to Airtel.But its cost is very high.
in my area bsnl speed is 20kbps and very good n/w.Airtel having 10-14kbps in full range but it have very very poor n/w.Vodafone giving 15-20kbps and very good n/w.in vodafone and bsnl gprs pack activated in very slow but airtel gprs pack activated in a very short time

Airtel is cheating the customers. Go for any other network than fraud airtel.
IMP:-) Airtel cust care is too worst. All agents are idiots, stupids who will confidently give different false answers for same question. they are not able to solve the simple problem of the valuable cust. Simply will tell whatever comes to their mind at that time. They want only money not the cust. So pls switch off to airtel and switch on to other right network.
