Orange to enter India via MVNO route on Reliance network

Reliance Mobile plans to launch France Telecom’s Orange brand in India, under a franchisee agreement, similar to the recent Tata Teleservices and UK-based Virgin Mobile deal.

For Orange, this would be a second coming as the brand was earlier operational in the India through GSM operator Hutchison-Essar (now Vodafone-Essar).

Virgin Mobile India launches MVNO with Tata Indicom

Virgin Mobile started its virtual doors in India. Virgin Group’s partner is Tata Indicom , which is part of the cdma based Tata Teleservices. The new mobile operator is the “first nation-wide youth focused mobile service” and the “first CDMA service where all customers will be on RUIM (SIM)-based phones.”
