Idea Cellular similar to Airtel and Vodafone announced the new lower Std rates on par with Vodafone and lower than Airtel i.e. 1.30Rs. New rates would be effective from 12th May2008. Other charges are Re1 for incoming and local outgoing in roaming while Rs1.50 for std calls during roaming.

Vodafone surprised everyone with it’s reduced std tariff of 1.30Rs which is even below Airtel std rates of Rs 1.50 however rest of the charges are similar to Airtel tariff only. All incoming while roaming is now Re1 instead of earlier Rs1.75 while outgoing while roaming local and std calls have been reduced to Re1 and Rs1.50 respectively. Company hopes to see increased volume of std calls to offset the tariff rate cuts. These tariff can be availed from 06th may on all prepaid and postpaid customers however
customer need to send a sms(free) to get these benefits.

Mtnl Delhi announces reduction in one time plan charges of jeevan sathi lifetime plan for both Dolphin postpaid and trump prepaid Gsm connections.For prepaid trump cost of new lifetime jeevansathi connection has been reduced from existing 475Rs to just Rs150 while for postpaid Dolphin connection it has been slashed from 450Rs to just 150Rs. Also the activation charges of 500Rs on postpaid connection has also been completely waived off.

Bharti Airtel the leading mobile operator of India with over 60 million or 6 crore gsm subscribers has announced a drop of long distance (std) and roaming charges upto 42%.
