Tariff War: Mtnl Delhi Reduces Std Rates to Rs1.25

After the 1.30Rs per minute  of std by Vodafone India and Idea Cellular now Mtnl Delhi have further reduced the rates for it’s Dolphin and Trump mobile phone services to Rs1.25. Mtnl also reduced
call rates on it’s basic landline services to 60sec pulse from previous 37sec making call rates vary from Re0.80 to Rs1.20 according to pulse rate. However it may be noted that company didn’t matched roaming rates to that of others so old roaming rates still apply.

Nokia to reduce music phone prices soon

Nokia India will soon reduce price of it’s XpressMusic phones series to Rs3000 and above from current Rs5000 and above. Company want to make music phone affordable for consumers and in long run want to gain from it by providing music download service directly from it’s wap portal thus gaining more revenue from content instead of device itself. This price reduction is intune with it’s global strategy where Nokia is already providing music and other vas content from it’s wap portal.

Airtel slashes std roaming call rates

Bharti Airtel the leading mobile operator of India with over 60 million or 6 crore gsm subscribers has announced a drop of long distance (std) and roaming charges upto 42%. Others operators may follow soon. In meantime Reliance announced plans with unlimited std calls within own network on it’s mobile and fixed wireless service.
